New stuff

Remember a couple of posts back when I mentioned how much I loved the Pier 1 napkin rings in the hammered silver colour...well guess what I bought 6 of them! I love them. I also found a really neat old decanter at my local thrift store and I decided to buy some glass rocks and fill it, now it looks worthy enough to put in my home.

Pretty happy with myself right now.

Mating call

I have been meaning to find a place for my little starfish which purchased one day over at Bowring and thanks to another little visit to Home Sense where I found this awesome glass mini dome I did just that! Now my two starfish are on display for all to marvel at...cute, isn't it how they look like they are mating? I swear that was the only way I could get the one to stand up! hee hee.

This post is brought to you by the letter E

I know I blogged a while back about dollar stores and how much I love them! Well while I have been busy at work on the backyard...trust me the pics will be worth it, it's really coming along! I digress...back to the Dollarama, I found a wood letter "E" for my full name Elizabeth which I thought if painted black would look just darling in my room, either on my dresser in front of my mirror or over by my desk nook...where do you think it looks best?

In the nook

Above the dresser

The "E" before the paint

Chatelet

I always love seeing blogs from far and wide that feature great design and resources, but I especially love it when I find Canadian blogs that feature furniture and decor that I can buy right here! So I thought it would be appropriate for a Canadian girl with a Canadian blog to highlight some of the great places to shop home bound every once and a while.

Therefore I give you...Chatelet a home decor/furniture store which can be found on the beaches (Queen St.West) it has some great stuff, so please go and check it out if you are ever in the area...if not check out their website @ http://www.chatelethome.com/

Oh and you have to go in person to see all of the fabulous stuff, the website does not do them justice, trust me!

Here are the highlights:

Garden shed Hall of fame...

Still got garden shed's on the brain? well I do and I need to finish mine...it's almost there folks, I have ordered the siding in "bisque" and now I just have to source a door knob, some outdoor light fixtures, paint the shed door and add personal touches like a flower box below the window. I am also going to add some interlock to the front of the door and use it as a small patio area.

Okay but in the mean time I found this site full of fun sheds/garages and it's a Canadian site as well, shout out to my Canadian bloggers!

Inspiration on a Wednesday

Yup, it's raining again where I live! So this puts a "damper" on backyard plans (pun intended), but at least I can stay in and get inspired. The only upside? the forecast says sunshine for tomorrow!

I wish

I can wish can't I? Although I haven't quite finished with my shed because it's been raining all week, I have spent a lot of time indoors looking at some amazing inspiration pictures and I can only hope my shed turns out as nice. I also found a great picture that documents the building phase and completion of a shed from start to finish which I thought was neat! At this point I think my shed looks like the 9th inset picture below but I hope to be done soon enough.
