A masculine/feminine space

I don't know why but I've always loved masculine spaces, there's something dark, sexy and mysterious about them. I have a love of all things black, white and grey, this is clearly evident from my bedrooom. Even my wardrobe is very neutral, with pops of colour when needed. But I have this other half that loves all things feminine and pretty, I am a sucker for anything sparkly and pretty. I actually think it's best to combine the two! here are two homes that do just that...

Teeny Tiny

Apartment Therapy has there Small, Cool contest  going on right now and I couldn't wait to check out the entries. As I don't exactly live in a huge home myself (a quaint bungalow) I love to see what people do with their small spaces. I always get so inspired! Here is one of my favourites in the Teeny Tiny division from Natalie in San Francisco. I couldn't believe the size of her place, I had to do a double take... are you ready...285 square feet! She manages to make it look cozy and oh so romantic. Go check it out at AT and see the other entries,  and don't forget to vote for your favourites.

Bryan Boone

Apartment Therapy LA has the house tour of Bryan Boone. I love how Bryan took such a small compact, yet open concept space and made it very cozy and livable. He broke up his sleeping, living and eating quarters  by adding credenza and sideboards as well as area rugs to define each space individually.

I love his aesthtic, mixing mostly whites with bold pops of colour and graphic print, and even mixing and matching woods. Add to that a mish mash of vintage and big box purchases, and fun with scale to create a cohesive, comfortable and chic living space. Love it!
