J.Crew Coming to Canada!

In their own words...

"Oh, Canada Calling all Canucks. We're opening our first-ever J.Crew store in Toronto in 2011. Details are still being ironed out, but we'll be sure to keep you posted. In the meantime, you can shop online at jcrew.com (we still ship to our northern neighbors)."

Favourite Christmas Movies

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around my house lately, and when this happens I get in the mood to eat gingerbread cookies, cuddle up with a warm throw on the couch, sip some hot cocoa and watch my favourite Christmas films.

I was raised by a single mother and because of this I was always very close to my grandparents growing up, in fact we all used to live under the same roof when I was a kid. I look to my grandparents as second parents, especially my grandfather who instilled in me a love of old films. So it's no surprise that some of my favourite Christmas movies are classics.

#1: Has to be for me, Meet me in St. Louis...the musical numbers, the fabulous Judy Garland, the story, the family bonding, the love story, the location!! I love it all.

#2: It's a Wonderful Life... the lessons learned, the talented acting of James Stewart and Donna Reed, the beautiful story of family, this movie always makes me cry!

So my question is what are some of your favourite holiday films?

Oh and I almost forgot...head over to Kerry's great blog First Time Fancy where I am guest blogging today, to see what my "perfectly imperfect" kitchen looks like!

Around the house...

Some fun detailed shots from around my home, enjoy!

Too early for Christmas...

It may be too early for others, but in my house we've already started the x-mas decorating (encouraged by my mother of course, whose favourite holiday is you guessed it...Christmas!) My boyfriend joked that next time her was over he would have to fine my mother!! Yes fine, as in write her a ticket for premature holiday decorating! You all want to see what we've done so far? Have a look...

Beauty Bag: Jen, Made By Girl

1. Lipstick Queen oxymoron matte gloss - color - "honest politician"

2. Covergirl eye liner - (I tend to use this for both my eyebrows & eyes).

3. Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage- (I've been using this for many years now & it works really well and concealing under eye circles).

4. Lorac lip pencil (it goes on really smooth - i love it)

5. Lancome Juicy Tube - I wear Berry Bold but I also buy the clear gloss to apply over other lipstick colors. This is definitely my favorite lip gloss...!

6. Derma-blend stick (ideal for any redness or covering up whatever other things can't)

7. ACCA KAPPA Creme perfume in White Moss- (This smells so good, it's very compact to carry around when you want to dab on and freshen your scent)

8. Nail Clipper & Tweezer- (Always need these).

9. Eye Drops- (Love having them especially out here where the weather is so dry).

10. Facial Toner spray- (I don't have a preference, but I just pour some from the original bottle into a compact one so I can carry it around when I'm out).

11. Shu Uemura concealer stick - (More concealer, this one also works quite nicely and is nice & small).

12. Mac Studio Fix Powder- (I like it and have been using this powder for years, and I always wonder if there's something better out there...)

One beauty product that I can't live without is:

My Derma Bland stick. It is VERY helpful to cover up any imperfections when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to apply foundation.

Thanks so much to the beautiful and talented Jen of MadeByGirl for sharing with us!

Chapters: Online Shopping!

Okay I am not letting anyone know anything new here, Chapters has online shopping, always has in fact! I bet that some of you (me included until last week) didn't know that they just revamped their website and added a Paper & Gift shop!! When I learned of this I was so excited I nearly cried!! Yes cried, because for years I've been going to Chapters for my books and also to pick up some beautiful stationary, a scarf, a journal or two, an olive wood cutting board and beautiful candles you know the usual.

Problem was up until a little while ago you could only get their Paper and Gifts at the store, well not anymore my friends!! Now you can shop online for all the pretty things plus your books.

Have a look at some of my fav's from their online shop:

So what do you guys think will you be adding any of these to your shopping carts?
